Biography

Jeffrey Standen serves as Of Counsel to the firm, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise. As a distinguished professor of law, his instructional focus centers on various litigation-related subjects, such as Evidence, Remedies, Conflicts, and Procedure, among others. His scholarly pursuits encompass areas such as remedies, procedure, gaming law, and sports law, reflected in his extensive publication record comprising academic articles and books. Standen is a sought-after speaker at numerous scholarly symposia and legal education panels, recognized for his insightful contributions.

Throughout his career, Standen has received accolades for both teaching excellence and scholarly achievements. Previously, he served as an Associate attorney at Hunton Andrews Kurth (formerly Hunton & Williams), where his litigation practice revolved around complex multi-state RICO and securities suits, products liability, and general business litigation. He also held the position of Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Sentencing Commission and clerked for a federal judge at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
